Pineapple Pulissery

      

     Pineapple Pulissery is a yummy dish. Delicacy from Kerala that is often part of the Sadhya. This is a flavourful tasty dish. Sweet, tangy and salty all at once. Pineapple Pulissery makes a wonderful accompaniment with steamed rice. 

INGREDIENTS :-

* Chopped pineapple - 1 cup

* Grated coconut - 1/2  cup

* Cumin seeds - 1/2 tsp

* Curd - 1 cup

* Green chilli - 3

* Chilli powder - 1/2 tsp

* Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp

* Salt - to taste

* Sugar - 1/2 tsp

For Tempering :-

* Coconut oil - 2 tsp

* Mustard seed - 1/2 tsp

* Fenugreek seeds - 1/4 tsp

* Dry red chilli - 2

* Curry leaves - 1 sprig

* Chilli powder - 1/4 tsp

METHOD :-

* Put a pressure cooker on the stove . 

* Add chopped pineapple, turmeric powder, 1/2 tsp chilli powder and enough water for cooking. 

* Cook till the pineapple is completely cooked. 

* When pressure is completely gone. Open the lid. 

* Slightly mash  the pineapple. Keep aside. 

* To a mixer jar add grated coconut, cumin seeds, green chilli. 

* Grind to a fine paste. 

* Add this coconut paste and salt to the pineapple mix. 

* Turn on the flame. 

* Cook this for 5 minutes then turn off the flame. 

* Then add curd. Mix it. 

* Heat a pan add oil. 

* When it becomes hot add mustard seed, dry red chilli, fenugreek seeds and curry leaves. Mix it. 

* Turn off the flame, at this moment add 1/4 tsp chilli powder. 

* Pour this to pineapple mix along with sugar. 

* Close the lid for 2 minutes. 

* Tasty pineapple Pulissery is ready to serve.
