Ribbon Pakoda / Ola Pakoda
Ribbon Pakoda / Ola Pakoda
Ribbon Pakoda or ola Pakoda is a popular South Indian crispy tea time snack. Made using besan flour, rice flour. Here I have added tapioca powder, it gives an extra taste to the Pakoda. If you don't want this you just skip this.
INGREDIENTS :-
* Gram flour - 1 cup
* Fine rice flour - 1/4 cup
* Tapioca powder - 1/4 cup
* Chilli powder - 1 tsp
* Asafoetida - 1/4 tsp
* Salt - to taste
* Oil - for frying
METHOD :-
* To a bowl add gram flour, rice flour, tapioca powder, chilli powder, asafoetida and salt.
* Mix well and add 1 tbs hot oil to this ( for extra crispness).
* Mix it.
* Knead it by adding little by little water to form a soft Non-sticky dough.
* Take a ribbon Pakoda disc.
* Put this in the murukku press.
* Fill the murukku press with the dough and press directly into the oil and deep fry over medium to high flame.
* Once the pakodas are fully fried, the hiss sound and the bubbles will subside.
* Now take them out from the oil and place them over the paper towel to drain the excess oil.
* Tasty Pakoda is ready. You can store in an air-tight container for upto 2 weeks.
ENJOY!!!!
