Kappa Puttu / Tapioca Puttu
Tapioca puttu is made using grated tapioca with chicken filling. Instead of chicken filling you can add grated coconut. If you are using chicken filling, you can enjoy eating without any side dish.
INGREDIENTS :-
* Tapioca - 500 gm
* Roasted rice flour - 4 tbs
* Boneless chicken roast - 6 tbs
* Grated coconut - 2 tbs
* Salt - to taste
METHOD :-
* Peel off tapioca, cut them into big pieces.
* Grate them.
* Add the grated tapioca into a bowl.
* Add salt to it and let it sit for 2 minutes.
* Squeeze this using your hands to remove the milk from the grated tapioca.
* To this add rice flour. Mix well without any lumps. Let it rest for 10 minutes.
* Now take a puttu making gadget, put the holed disc in the bottom and fill the bottom pot with water.
* Sprinkle grated coconut in the bottom of the funnel followed by grated tapioca till the middle.
* Then add 1 tbs chicken roast followed by tapioca again add chicken roast then grated coconut.
* Top layer with chicken roast. Cover the lid.
* Place the funnel over the pot.
* Steam it for 15-20 minutes till it's cooked well.
* Take out the funnel, now using the back of the ladle push the puttu from the funnel and serve hot.
