Instant Rava (semolina) appam

   Rava appam is a delicious and easy-to-make South Indian snack prepared using a simple batter of rava (semolina), maida (all-purpose flour), sugar, and raisins. The rava and maida form the base of the batter, which is mixed with water to achieve a smooth, pourable consistency. Sugar adds the right amount of sweetness, while raisins are folded in for bursts of chewy texture and natural sweetness in every bite. The batter is typically deep fried. slightly crisp exterior and Soft on the inside. Rava appams make for a perfect tea-time treat or festive snack.

INGREDIENTS :-

* Rava (semolina) - 1 cup

* Maida - 1 cup

* Sugar - 3/4 cup

* Raisins - 1/4 cup

* Cardamom powder - 1/2 tsp

* Salt - one pinch

* Oil - for deep frying 

METHOD :-

* To a bowl add rava along with sugar and 1 1/2 cup of water. 

* Let it soak for 10 minutes.

* After 10 minutes add maida, cardamom powder, raisins and salt to the soaked rava with water. Do not drain the water. 

* Mix well. The batter should be in a pouring consistency. 

* Heat oil for deep frying. 

* When the oil becomes hot turn the flame to medium. 

* Pour one ladle of batter to the hot oil. 

* Fry until light golden brown color in medium heat. 

* Then remove to a paper towel. 

* Do the same process until the batter finished. 

* Tasy instant rava appam is ready.
