Chilli bread recipe
Chilli bread is a spicy, savory snack or light meal that combines the comforting texture of bread with bold, flavorful spices. Often associated with Indo-Chinese Or Indian fusion Cuisine. It's a popular street food in many parts of India, commonly enjoyed as an evening snack, especially during the monsoon season.
Serving suggestions :-
* Serve hot with a drizzle of lemon juice.
* Great as a party appetizer or an after-school snack.
INGREDIENTS :-
For toasting :-
* Bread - 6 slices
* Oil - 3 tbs
For sauce :-
* Chopped garlic - 2 tsp
* Onion - 1
* Green chilli - 1
* Spring onion white - 1 tbs
* Bell pepper - 3 tbs
* Chilli paste - 1/2 tbs
* Pepper powder - 1/2 tsp
* Vinegar - 1/2 tsp
* Soya sauce - 1 1/2 tsp
* Tomato ketchup - 2 tbs
* Spring onion - 1 tbs
* Coriander leaves - 2 tbs
* Water - 1/2 cup
* Oil - 2 tbs
* Salt - to taste
For corn flour slurry :-
* Corn flour - 1 1/2 tsp
* Water - 1/4 cup
METHOD :-
* Cut off the edges of the bread.
* Then cut into bite-sized cubes.
* Heat oil for toasting. Add the bread pieces.
* Toast them till it turns light brown color.
* Remove from the flame and set aside.
* For sauce, Heat a pan add oil.
* Then add finely chopped garlic, finely chopped onion, chopped green chilli and chopped bell pepper.
* Saute it for 5 minutes in medium flame.
* Then add salt and pepper powder. Mix it.
*Turn the flame to low and add vinegar, chilli paste, soya sauce, tomato ketchup.
* Mix and combine well.
* At this stage add chopped spring onion white. Mix it.
* Then add half cup of water.
* Meanwhile mix corn flour and water to make corn flour slurry.
* Add this corn flour slurry to the sauce mix.
* Stir it continuously in medium flame.
* When the sauce starts slightly thickens.
* Add the toasted bread pieces to the mixture.
* Mix it until the mixture evenly coats on bread pieces.
* Cook this for 2 minutes.
* Finally add chopped Coriander leaves and spring onion.
* Mix it.
* Turn off the flame.
* Tasty chilli bread is ready.
