Gopi 65 / Cauliflower 65

Cauliflower 65 is a popular South Indian appetizer made by deep-frying marinated cauliflower florets until golden and crispy. Inspired by the famous Chicken 65, this vegetarian version features a bold blend of spices like red chili powder, turmeric, garam masala, and ginger-garlic paste, often enhanced with a touch of yogurt or lemon juice for tanginess. After frying, the florets are tossed in a tempering of curry leaves, green chilies, and sauces for extra flavor. Cauliflower 65 is loved for its crunchy texture and spicy kick, making it a favorite snack or party dish, often served with chutney or as part of a larger South Indian meal. 

INGREDIENTS :-

* Cauliflower - 1 medium sized

* Besan flour - 1/2 cup

* Corn flour - 3/4 cup

* Ginger garlic paste - 1 tsp

* Chilli powder - 1/2 tsp

* Kashmiri chilli powder -1/2 tsp

* Turmeric powder - 1/4 tsp

* Garam masala powder - 1/4 tsp

* Salt - to taste

* Tomato ketchup - 1 tbs

* Chilli sauce - 1 tbs

* Soya sauce - 1/2 tsp

* Curry leaves - 1 sprig

* Green chilli - 2

METHOD :-

* Cut the cauliflower into small florets. 

* To a pot add 3/4 litre of water. 

* Boil this along with little salt. 

* Then gently drop the cauliflower florets into this. 

* Blanch it for 4-5 minutes. 

* After that turn off the flame. Strain it and keep it aside. 

* To a bowl add besan flour, corn flour, chilli powder, turmeric powder, garam masala, ginger garlic paste and salt. 

* Mix it. Then gently pour enough water to make a batter consistency. The batter shouldn't be not too thick or not too runny. 

* Heat enough oil for deep frying. 

* when the oil becomes hot. Dip the cauliflower in the batter and deep fry them until golden brown color. 

* After that remove from the heat and keep it aside. 

* Heat a pan add 1/2 tsp oil. Then add tomato ketchup, chilli sauce, soya sauce and kashmiri chilli powder. 

* Give it a quick mix. 

* Then add the fried cauliflower florets to this. 

* Toss it nicely. 

* Finally add fried curry leaves and green chilli. Mix it. 

* Turn off the flame. 

* Tasty gopi 65 or cauliflower 65 is ready.
