Tomato chutney
Tomato chutney or thakkali chutney is a popular recipe all over India. This can be served with idli, dosa, paniyaram, ada dosa or as a spread for sandwich.
INGREDIENTS :-
* Tomato - 2
* Onion - 1
* Garlic - 2 cloves
* Green chilli - 2
* Kashmiri chilli powder - 1 1/2 tsp
* Fenugreek seed - 1/4 tsp
* Mustard seed - 1/2 tsp
* Dried chilli -1
* Curry leaves - 1 sprig
* Oil - 2 tbs
* Salt - to taste
METHOD :-
* Heat a pan add oil, when it becomes hot add fenugreek seeds wait until it pops.
* Once it done add chopped garlic and chopped green chilli.
* Saute it for 1 minute.
* Then add chopped onion. Saute it along salt until it becomes light brown color.
* Turn the low, then add Kashmiri chilli powder. Saute it for 15 second seconds or until the raw flavor of Kashmiri chilli is settled.
* After that add chopped tomatoes.
*Turn the flame medium and Saute it till it becomes mashy.
* Turn off the flame.
* Let it cool down completely.
* Transfer this to a mixer jar along with 4tbs of water. it need not be a fine paste.
* For tempering, heat a pan and add oil.
* When it becomes hot add mustard seed. Wait until it pops.
* Then add dried chilli and curry leaves. Mix it.
* To this add the grinded tomato mix.
* Mix well.
* Turn off the flame.
* It's ready to serve.
