Rava Upma/ Semolina Upma / Easy breakfast

  Rava is the South Indian name for semolina. This is the simple breakfast recipe that can be made in jiffy.  It's a very filling breakfast or dinner. 

INGREDIENTS :-

* Rava (semolina) - 1 cup

Water - 2 cup

* Ghee - 3 tbs

* Onion - 1

* Carrot - 1

* Ginger - 1 inch piece

* Green chilli - 2

* Roasted chana - 1 tbs

* Mustard seed - 1/2 tsp

* Curry leaves - 1 sprig

* Sugar - 1/2 tsp

* Salt - to taste

METHOD :-

* Dry roast the rava for 3-4 minutes in low to medium flame. Set aside. 

* Heat a pan add 2 tbs ghee. 

* Then add mustard seed. When it pops up add roasted chana. 

* Saute it till roasted chana slightly change the color. 

* Then add chopped ginger , chopped green chilli. Saute it for 30 seconds. 

* Add Sliced onion and carrot pieces, saute it till the onion becomes transperent.

* Add curry leaves and water. 

* Add salt and sugar at this time. 

* Let it boil. 

* Then add slowly roasted rava, stir it continuously to avoid the lumps. 

* When the water is completely reduced. Turn of the flame. 

* Once it done add the remaining 1tbs ghee. Mix it. 

* Close the lid for 2 minutes. 

* Tasty rava Upma id ready to serve.
