Aval Upma/ Poha upma / Flattened rice upma

     Aval upma is a quick, easy, simple and healthy breakfast recipe made with flattened rice. This is a mild tasty dish made by cooking poha with some tempering. It's a one pan dish that can be made under 10 minutes. 

INGREDIENTS :-

* Flattened rice - 1 cup

* Grated coconut - 1/4 cup

* Green chilli - 2

* Ginger - 1/2 inch piece

* Onion - 1

* Curry leaves - 1 sprig

* Mustard seed - 1/2 tsp

* Salt - to taste

* Sugar - 1 tsp

* Oil - 1 tbs

METHOD :-

 * Wash the flattened rice 2 times. 

* Drain it completely. Set aside. 

* Heat a pan add oil, when it becomes hot add mustard seed. 

* Wait to pops up. 

* Then add Chopped green chilli and chopped ginger. 

* Saute it for 1 minute. 

* Then add chopped onion. Saute till it turns transparent. 

* To this add curry leaves, salt and grated coconut. 

* Saute it for another 1 minute. 

* Then add washed flattened rice along with sugar. 

* Mix it. Cook this for 3-4 minutes in medium flame. Stir it occasionally. 

* After that turn off the flame. 

* Tasty and easy upma is ready to serve.
