Rice Pappadam
Rice Pappadam is a popular Indian snack made from raw rice, cumin seeds, black sesame seeds. It's thin and crispy that's typically deep fried. You can enjoy this as a snack or as an accompaniment to meals. If you like little spicy, add chilli powder or green chilli to the batter.
INGREDIENTS :-
* Raw rice - 1 cup
* Black Sesame seed - 1 tbs
* Cumin seeds - 1 tsp
* Asafoetida powder - 1 tsp
* Salt - as needed
METHOD :-
* Clean and soak the rice overnight.
* Grind it to a fine paste. Add enough water. Batter should be in a flowing consistency.
* Transfer this to a bowl and add cumin seeds, black sesame seeds and salt.
* Take a round steel plate. Grease with some oil.
* Then Pour 1 1/2 tbs of batter to the plate. (The quantity of the batter depends on the size of the plate we are taking)
* Turn and tilt the plate so that the batter will spread evenly a thin layer.
* Steam it for 2 minutes.
* Take out the plate from the steamer.
* De-mould it using a spoon.
* Follow the same process until the batter finished.
* Sundried it. When sun is at the peak it takes only one day to dry.
* Store it upto 1 year in room temperature.
* Deep fry in oil and serve it when ever you want.
