Kerala Banana chips
Banana chips is a deep fried crispy slices of raw banana. It's usually made from Nedran banana which is a firmer variety banana. Kerala banana chips are a popular snack loved for their unique flavor and texture. These are a delicious snack that can be enjoyed anytime.
INGREDIENTS :-
* Raw Nendran banana - 1 kg
* Turmeric powder - 1 tsp
* Salt - 2 tsp
* Water - 1/4 cup
* Coconut oil - for deep frying
METHOD:-
* Remove the Peel of the banana.
* Take some water along with little turmeric powder.
* Put this peeled banana into it for 10 minutes. They should be completely immersed in water. Because keeping the banana in turmeric water will helps to prevent the bananas from darkening.
* After 10 minutes take out the bananas from turmeric water. Whip out the water with a clean kitchen towel.
* Slice the banana with a Mandoline slicer on a plate.
* To a bowl add 1/4 cup water along with turmeric powder and salt. Mix it. Keep aside.
* Heat oil for deep frying.
* When it becomes hot add the banana slices into the oil. Keep the flame medium to high. Do not overcrowd with banana slices.
* Stir them. When the oil bubbles slightly reduce sprinkle 1spoon turmeric and salt water to this.
* After adding the salt and turmeric water continue fry for 2-3 minutes or till the sizzling and bubbling stops.
* Take out from the oil with a slotted spoon.
* Crispy and tasty banana chips is ready.
