DAL FRY
Dal fry recipe is a dish from Indian Cuisine. It's a mild dish. Goes well with roti and rice. Most of the people made this recipe without coconut paste. But here i am sharing dal fry with coconut paste. Because I love this type. It has an extra taste compare to the other one. That's your choice. The same recipe can be made with or without coconut paste.

INGREDIENTS :-
* Toor dal - 50 gm
* Shallots - 10
* Garlic - 4
* Tomato - 1
* Turmeric powder - 1/4 Tsp
* Green chilly - 2
* Chilly powder - 1/2 Tsp
* Grated coconut - 3 Tbsn
* Cumin seeds - 1 Tsp
* Malabar tamarind - half piece
* Asafoetida - 1/4 Tsp
* Dried chilly - 2
* Mustard seeds - 1/2 Tsp
* Curry leaves - 1 sprig
* Coriander leaves - 1 Tbsp
* Oil - 3/4 Tbsp
* Salt - to taste
METHOD:-
* Put a pressure cooker on the stove add toor dal , tomato, 5 shallots, 3 garlic, turmeric powder. Add enough water to cook well.
* Cook for 2 Whistles. (Don't overcook)
* When the pressure is completely gone open the lid. Add chilly powder, salt and Malabar tamarind.
* Allow to boil for 2 minutes.
* To the mixer jar add grated coconut, green chilly, 1 garlic, 5 shallots and 3/4tsp cumin seeds.
* Grind it to a fine paste by adding enough water.
* Add this to the dal mix. Stir it continuously till it starts bubbling.
* Turn off the flame. Add asafoetida powder and coriander leaves.
* Put a pan on the stove add oil when it becomes hot add Mustard seeds and cumin seeds, when it pops up add dried chilly and curry leaves.
* Add this to the dal mix.
* Tasty dal fry is ready to serve.
