Chakkakuru upperi / jack fruit seed strir fry


  Chakkakuru upperi is an exceptionally tasty south indian recipe. Chakkakuru otherwise called jackfruit seed upperi made with grated coconut and a few flavors makes it extremely delightful.

    Jackfruit seeds has a few medical advantages. It is wealthy in protein and dietary fiber. This will helps to prevent the risk  of heart disease, helps in weight reduction. Reduce wrinkles.Eating jackfruit seeds increment the resistance force of the body.

  Let's see  how to make this tasty and healthy recipe.


Combination :-

* Boiled rice + rasam + chakkakuru upperi

* Boiled rice + curd + chakkakuru upperi


INGREDIENTS:-

* Chakkakuru - 250 gm

* Chilly powder - 2 Tsp

* Pepper powder - 1 Tsp

* Coriander powder - 2 Tsp

* Turmeric powder - 1/4 Tsp

* Shallots - 10

* Mustard seeds - 1/2 Tsp

* Fenugreek seeds - 1/4 Tsp

* Salt - to taste

* Grated coconut - 5 Tbsp

* Curry leaves - 1 spring

* Coconut oil - 2 Tbsn


METHOD :-

* Clean the jack fruit seeds, just peel the outer cover and the brown part using a knife and cut into pieces.

Chakkakuru upperi


* Put a pressure cooker on the stove.

* Add coconut oil, then add Mustard seeds when it pops up add Fenugreek seeds.

* After that add shallots pieces and saute it till it becomes transparent.

* Add curry leaves and jack fruit seed pieces to this.

* Add enough water ( fully covered the jack fruit seeds) along with chilly powder, turmeric powder, coriander powder , pepper powder and salt.

* Then close the cooker. Cook till 2 Whistles.

* When the pressure is completely gone, open the lid.

* Add grated coconut and 1 Tsp fresh coconut oil.

* Chakkakuru upperi is ready to serve.
