Breakfast recipe / poori and poori masala


  Poori and poori masala is Indian dish. Mostly served as breakfast. Poori masala is made using potato with less spices. But the taste was delicious. Poori is an  Indian fried bread.

Other combination for poori is green peas curry, vegetable kurma.

 Let's see how to make this dish.


INGREDIENTS FOR POORI:-

* Wheat flour - 1 cup

* Water - 1/2 cup

* Salt - to taste

* Sugar - 1/2 Tsp

* Oil - 1/2 Tsp for dough

* Oil - for frying


METHOD:-

* Take a bowl and mix wheat flour, salt, sugar, oil and water.

* Make a dough.

* Make small balls. 

* Make flat round shape.

* Fry it using oil in high to medium flame.


INGREDIENTS FOR POORI MASALA:-

* Potato - 3

* Carrot - 1

* Green chilly - 2

* Onion - 1

* Ginger - 1/2 Inch piece

* Turmeric powder - 1/4 Tsp

* Oil - 1 Tbsp

* Mustard seeds - 1/2 Tsp

* Chana dal - 1 Tsp

* Curry leaves - 1 sprig

* Coriander leaves - 2 Tbsn

* Salt - to taste 


METHOD :-

* Put a pressure cooker on the stove add potato, cook for 2 whistles.

* Peel the skin of potato. Then slightly mash it. Keep aside.

* Put a pan on the stove add oil when it becomes hot add Mustard seeds, when when it pops up add chana dal.

* Add ginger pieces, green chilly, chopped carrot, curry leaves and sliced onion.

* Saute it till the onion becomes transparent.

* Add turmeric powder and salt.

* Add 1/4 cup water. Allow to boil till the water is completely reduced.

* Add mashed potatoes and 1/2 cup of water. Cook this for 2 - 3 minutes.

* Turn off the flame and add coriander leaves.

* Tasty poori masala is ready to serve with poori.
