SPICY STEAMED RICE BALLS

  

Spicy steamed rice balls / pidi

    

     Rice balls is a tasty recipe, that we love to have as breakfast or as a snack with tea or coffee.... Since it is made with steamed rice balls, this is a healthy and tasty recipe. Steamed rice balls  mixed with spicy tempering makes it a delicious recipe. Many recipes can made with steamed rice balls like sweet rice balls, spicy rice balls, beef rice balls, chicken rice balls etc. This recipe has an important role in household menu....

       Small round shaped rice balls coated in spicy masala will attracts everyone from kids to adults. The main partner for this recipe is hot tea or coffee. 

  So we will see  the step by step procedure to make this recipe.


Steamed rice balls/ pidi


 INGREDIENTS :-

* Roasted rice powder - 1 cup

* Water - 1 1/4 cup 

* salt - to taste

* Oil - 2 Tbsn

* Small onion - 15

* Garlic - 4 

* Dried chilly - 6

* Curry leaves - 1 spring

* Mustard - 1/2 Tsp


 METHOD:-

* Put a khadai on the stove add water, salt, 1/2 Tsp oil.

* When it starts bubbling add rice powder stir it continuously in low flame. After 1 minute switch off the flame. 

* Then knead it well.

* Make small balls from this, then steamed it till the rice is cooked.



*Add onion, garlic, dried chilly and salt ( for this paste) to the mixer grinder and grind it to a coarse paste.

* Put a pan on the stove add the remaining oil , when it becomes hot add Mustard Seeds  when it splutter add curry leaves  and grinded onion paste to it.

* Saute it till the oil seperate.

* At this point add steamed rice balls and mixed well in low flame for 5 minutes.



* Switch off  the flame.

* Serve with hot tea or coffee.
