         Aval Upma/ Poha upma / Flattened rice upma           Aval upma is a quick, easy, simple and healthy breakfast recipe made with flattened rice. This is a mild tasty dish made by cooking poha with some tempering. It's a one pan dish that can be made under 10 minutes.  INGREDIENTS :- * Flattened rice - 1 cup * Grated coconut - 1/4 cup * Green chilli - 2 * Ginger - 1/2 inch piece * Onion - 1 * Curry leaves - 1 sprig * Mustard seed - 1/2 tsp * Salt - to taste * Sugar - 1 tsp * Oil - 1 tbs METHOD :-  * Wash the flattened rice 2 times.  * Drain it completely. Set aside.  * Heat a pan add oil, when it becomes hot add mustard seed.  * Wait to pops up.  * Then add Chopped green chilli and chopped ginger.  * Saute it for 1 minute.  * Then add chopped onion.            Tomato chutney        Tomato chutney or thakkali chutney is a popular recipe all over India. This can be served with idli, dosa, paniyaram, ada dosa or as a spread for sandwich.  INGREDIENTS :- * Tomato - 2 * Onion - 1 * Garlic - 2 cloves * Green chilli - 2 * Kashmiri chilli powder - 1 1/2 tsp * Fenugreek seed - 1/4 tsp * Mustard seed - 1/2 tsp * Dried chilli -1 * Curry leaves - 1 sprig * Oil - 2 tbs * Salt - to taste METHOD :- * Heat a pan add oil, when it becomes hot add fenugreek seeds wait until it pops.  * Once it done add chopped garlic and chopped green chilli.  * Saute it for 1 minute.  * Then add chopped onion.         Kappa pappadam /  Tapioca Pappad         Kappa pappadam also known as tapioca pappad is a crispy and savory treat that brings a unique crunch to your meals. Made from tapioca powder. This can be enjoyed on its own as a light, satisfying snack.  INGREDIENTS :- * Tapioca powder - 1 cup * Water - 1 1/2 cup * Chilli powder - 2 tsp * Asafoetida powder - 1/2 tsp * Salt - to taste METHOD :- * To a bowl add all the ingredients.  * Mix it.  * Batter should be in flowing consistency.  * Take a round plate. Grease with some oil.  * Then Pour 2tbs of batter  to the plate.   (The quantity of the batter depends on the size of the plate we are taking)  * Turn and tilt the plate so that the batter will spread evenly a thin layer.  * Steam it for 2-3 minutes.  * Take out the plate from the steamer.  * De-mould it using a spoon.  * Follow the same process until the batter finished....

This is thin and crispy around edges with soft fluffy on the center portion. Tastes delicious with vegetable stew or with vegetable kurma for a hearty vegetarian breakfast.  INGREDIENTS :- * Raw rice - 1 cup * Grated coconut - 1/2 cup * Steamed rice - 1/4 cup * Coconut water - 1/2 cup * Instant yeast - 1/4 tsp * Baking soda - 1/4 tsp * Sugar - 1 tbs * Salt - as needed * Water - as needed METHOD :- * Wash and soak the rice for 5-6 hours.  * After that drain out the water.  * Transfer this to a mixer jar along with grated coconut, steamed rice, sugar, yeast and coconut water.  *Grind it by adding enough water. Here I am making a creamy smoothie that is rich in protein and other essential nutrients.  INGREDIENTS :- * Dates - 2 * Almonds - 4 * Cashew - 4 * Peanut butter - 2 tbs * Banana - 1 * Milk - 1 cup METHOD :- * To a bowl add Almonds, dates, cashews along with water and soak overnight.  * In the morning strain it.  * To a blender add banana pieces, soaked ingredients, peanut butter and milk.  * Blend it nicely.  * Pour into the serving glass.  * Drink this every morning as a breaking smoothie.  ENJOY!!!!
