Masala Puffed rice / Masala murmura

    Masala puffed rice, also known as masala murmura or spicy kurmura, is a light and flavorful Indian snack made by mixing crisp puffed rice with a variety of aromatic spices, herbs, and seasonings. Typically, ingredients like garlic, curry leaves, turmeric, dried chili and salt are sautéed together in a little oil, then combined with puffed rice to create a crunchy, spicy, and tangy mixture. Sometimes, chopped onions, peanuts, tomatoes, and coriander leaves are added just before serving to make it fresh and zesty, similar to bhel puri. Loved for its irresistible crunch and bold flavors, masala puffed rice is enjoyed as a quick tea-time snack or street food favorite across India.

INGREDIENTS :-

* Puffed rice - 100 gm

* Garlic - 4 cloves

* Dried chilli - 2 - 3

* Curry leaves - 1 sprig

* Turmeric powder - 1/4 tsp

* Salt - to taste

* Oil - 1 tsp

METHOD :-

* Heat a pan add oil. 

* When it becomes hot add crushed garlic.

* Saute until it turns light brown color. 

* Then add dried red chilli. 

* Saute it for 30 seconds. 

* Turn the flame low and add curry leaves, turmeric powder and salt. 

* Mix it for a few seconds. 

* To this add puffed rice. 

* Then turn the flame to medium. 

* Mix it for 1 minute.

* Crispy masala puffed rice or murmura is ready.
