MEEN VATTICHATHU / fish roast

       MEEN VATTICHATHU

This entirely different from the other fish recipes. The main difference is, this recipe is made without tamarind. However  the taste... no words for that. The taste leaves you with lip smacking goodness of spices and fish.   This is my mom's  grandmother's   recipe.   My mom also following same  recipe , without any changes.

Only freshwater fishes is used to make this recipe. Fishes like varaal, catfish, catla is mainly used to make this curry. This is a semi thick gravy. Use coconut oil for this curry do not use any other oil because the taste will differ. Do not use onion use only shallots.
