Dried prawns chammanthi powder / unakka Chemeen chammanthi podi

INGREDIENTS :-
* Dried prawns - 50 gm
* Dried red chilly - 7
* Shallots - 15
* Tamarind - small gooseberry sized
* Oil - 1 Tbsp
* Salt - to taste
METHOD :-
* Clean the dried prawns.
* Put a pan on the stove add oil when it becomes hot add cleaned dried prawns.
* Saute this, till it becomes slightly crispy.
Keep aside.
* To the same pan add dried red chilly.
* Saute this , till the colour changed. Keep aside.
* Again to the same pan add sliced shallots.
* Saute it till it becomes light brown colour. Then add tamarind and salt.
* Turn off the flame.
* When it becomes completely cooled down.
* Add this to a mixer jar. Coarsely grind it. ( Not fine powder )
* Transfer this to a jar and Refrigerate it.
* Can be stored for up to a week without spoiling.
* Tasty dried prawns chammanthi powder is ready to serve.
