VATHA KUZHAMBU
Vatha Kuzhambu - is a zesty tart and a finger licking Tamilnadu style Curry made with sundakkai, shallots and few newly ground flavors . Presented with hot rice with a sprinkle of ghee , this vathal kozhumbu tastes so great !!
Here i am preparing this curry with vathakuzhambu rice paste.That is easily available in online stores.This method is very easy and at the same time tasty too.
Vathal kulambu formula is one of the famous dishes in Tamil Nadu and is extremely normal in Hotels and families of the state. There are so many ways this dish can be made and every area has its own exceptional way of making it . some add veggies like bhindi , brinjal and so on and some keep it basic with only hardly any essential fixings. .what doesn't change in any of these varieties is use of tamarind and sesame oil .
Utilization of Sesame oil in Vatha Kozhumbu , makes the curry so delightful and gives it an ideal valid taste
What's more, they serve this curry as a side dish with white rice. One can undoubtedly savor vatha kozhumbu for 3-4 days without fridge, and the greatest aspect ,the taste simply continues to get better every day .
INGREDIENTS :-
* Ladies finger - 8
* Shallots - 10 nos
* Garlic - 4 cloves
* Chilly powder - 1/2 Tsp
* Turmeric powder - 1/4 Tsp
* Tamarind - small gooseberry sized
* Sesame Oil - 1 Tbsp
* Vathakuzhambu paste - 2Tbs
* Jaggery - 1/2 Tsp
* Water - 1 1/2cup
* Salt - to taste
METHOD:-
* Heat some oil in the pan, add ladies finger, shallots, garlic and saute it for 3 minutes.
* Add chilly powder, turmeric powder, salt. Saute it for 30 sec.
* Then add vathakuzhambu paste, saute it for 1 minute.
* Add tamarind and jaggery along with water, allow to boil for 5 minutes.
* Vathakuzhambu is ready to serve.
* Serve with boiled rice.
