      LEGEND BEHIND VISHU  Vishu is celebrated on the first day of the Malayalam month “medam”  (2023 15th April ). Vishu is also known as harvest festival and the astronomical ‘New Year' of Kerala. Vishu means equal. Which implies the day with equal hours of day and night, that is 12 hours day and 12 hours night. Vishu is celebrated in all Sri Krishna and Vishnu Temples, especially in Guruvayoor Temple. Vishu kani and Vishu Kaineettam is the most important aspects of the Vishu celebration. Vishu kani and Vishu Kaineettam is considered to be the omen of Good luck and prosperity. The devotees believe that Vishu kani would bring them prosperity throughout the year. Kani is prepared with the the idol of lord Krishna, kani konna, rice, fruits, vegetables, gold, vaalkannadi etc.. Easy homemade garlic pickle

      GARLIC PICKLE  Today I am sharing the recipe of easy homemade garlic pickle. This goes well with curd rice, dal khichdi, sambar rice etc....    If you are using gingelly oil, the pickle will stay fresh for a long time. Note : - 5 things to keep in mind when making pickle are.. 1. After making pickle, do not transfer this to a jar or bottle when it becomes hot. Transfer this only when it becomes completely cooled down. 2. Do not use aluminium pan or iron pan for making and storing the pickle. Use glass jar or bottle. 3. Do not store pickle in wet jar or bottle. 4. Do not use wet spoon to take the pickle from the jar.  5. After making it, keep the pickle in room temperature for first 2 days. Then on the third day refrigerate it. This will help to keep the pickle fresh for long time.  So let's see how to make homemade garlic pickle.
